Garage loyalty: choice of provider
service and repair work 2019
When a car owner finds ‘his’ garage, he remains extremely loyal to it and can be considered a regular customer. 81% of respondents stated that they always had their servicing and repair work done at the same garage. Just 17% admitted to switching between different garages. The level of garage loyalty is evidently still very high. Breaking these figures down according to different groups, women (86%) displayed greater loyalty to a garage than men (79%). The willingness of customers to switch garages also varies with age: 76% of respondents under 30 years of age and 84% of the 50+ generation are faithful to their regular garage. In other words, one in four (24%) young car owners under the age of 30 switched between different garages, a willingness seen in 14% of the 50+ generation. There are marginal difference between garage customers in large cities and small towns: at 80% and 82% respectively, both groups showed a very strong attachment to their regular garage.
