Selected assistance systems fitted 2019

The level of equipment options in new cars has been rising for years. This is equally true for standard and optional equipment. The market penetration of driver assistance systems in particular has been steadily increasing. But it is not just the desire for more comfort or technology that plays a role here, but also changes to the law. A limited selection of assistance systems was surveyed for the current DAT Report, as there are so many. Parking Assist, Rain Sensor and Hill-Start Assist were named as the top 3 assistance systems installed in respondents’ cars. The only feature in the single-digit percentage range was Traffic Sign Recognition (in 9% of all used cars). The high penetration rates are reflected in the used-car market and the vehicle population as a whole, albeit with a certain delay.
